Business, Admin
If you do administrative or business work you will be using lots of different skills to help keep a company running smoothly. You can split this category into three parts.
- Accounting and Finance: management of money and taxes for companies and individual people
- Business Administration: organising companies, how they operate, are managed and how they deal with their customers
- Law Law and Legal Services: eg criminal and civil law, as well as specialist areas like public law and property law. See Law.
If you were employed in Business or Administration, you might be working in an office doing things like dealing with enquiries, word processing, filing and photocopying. You can advance to supervisory and management positions.
Many large offices are open-planned, warm, and busy, which means that there will be lots of people working around you. With smaller companies, however, you could find yourself working in a small office by yourself or with only one or two other people.
