Arts
We have included Art, Music and Drama / Performing Arts in this set. Music at GCSE involves studying performing, composing and appreciating different styles and contexts for music like music in films, pop and rock, orchestra, etc. Drama has creative writing and performing elements but also looks at the work of authors and play writers. Performing Arts takes a broader perspective and courses may well cover performance, make-up, costume, stage design, lighting, etc.
Art and Design is often a basic foundation for many careers in architecture, graphic design, interior design, etc. Commonly you would study drawing, painting, printing, graphics and 3D developing knowledge, skills and techniques to use in your own practical work. There may also be opportunities to work in other media like computer aided design and ceramics.
